Toni was and remains a definition of love for me. She so loved John and her family. Family was the most important thing to her, she loved all the family celebrations and delighted in her nieces and godchildren. Toni loved being a nurse and her patients and colleagues loved her back. She loved freely and generously, quick to forgive, quick to offer help, quick to hold your hand during dark times and quick to celebrate people's joys. To know Toni was to love her, but, somehow, I think we got the better end of the deal! She was my best friend and like a sister for twenty years, Marks best friend for nearly ten, and we are proud and privileged to count her as family. We are all better people for knowing her.

St Elizabeths Hospice currently offers a specialised alternative day service, specifically created for young adults called X-Change. As a paediatric nurse, who had previously worked at a paediatric hospice (EACH), this was particularly close to Toni's heart. It allows patients access to art, a gym, music, beauty therapies and fun recreational activities, including trips to the zoo, beach or even the pub! This enables them to form and build independence and relationships, while also offering support to their family and friends. The Hospice also wants to offer short term breaks to young adults but does not currently have the funding for this. St Elizabeths Hospice relies heavily on charitable funding, so every donation you make in Toni's memory will enable the hospice to grow and continue providing and growing its services.
