Story

Aiming to set a record for the slowest bike ride from the bottom end of the country to the top. Not taking the shortest route either. Started 20th July 2020. 31 miles completed so far. Next leg will be 4th-10th September 2020 and probably still won't be out of Cornwall by then.

Updates

Overdue Update

17th July 2022
Since the last update I have cycled through Somerset and then along the Kennet and Avon Canal to London. Cycled 52 miles across London in a day and then made it through Essex and into beautiful Suffolk. Took a couple of diversions to stop at St. Elizabeth Hospice and then down to Woodhall Manor (near Sutton Hoo) where Toni and I were married. A few more trips have now taken me to Eye. What was already going to be an emotional part of the journey was made more so by the passing of Toni's father Olle with whom I had previously enjoyed cycling some of these Suffolk routes so this section is dedicated to both Toni and Olle. Now planning a tour of Norfolk before continuing the journey northwards.

Cornwall and Devon Completed!

24th August 2021
13 months and 15 separate days of cycling after the start and I have managed to reach Wells in Somerset. The terrain has become much smoother with the Granite Way, the Great Western Canal and the Bridgewater and Taunton Canal providing flat and beautiful routes.

Still in Cornwall

10th September 2020
A week's holiday in Lanreath gave me a chance to crawl a bit further away from Land's End. About 65 miles completed now. Thank you to those who have donated. It means a lot.
